Description
John S. Mosby was a citizen of Virginia when the Civil War broke out in 1861. Brentmore, located in Warrenton, Virginia, was the post war home of this Confederate hero.
A Confederate officer, he earned a reputation for being elusive, and was was one step ahead of the federal forces, launching surprise attack and then slipping away. He was a hero to the South and feared by the North who named him "the Gray Ghost"
Visting Northern Virginia during this 150th anniversary of the Civil War, found me on a photo shoot right in the middle of The Mosby Heritage Area. You can hardly make a move without finding yourself viewing a part of history. This is a beautiful historic landscape is more than worth a visit. This image is part of a series and is perfect wall art for any Civil War buff.
