Description
The beautiful Cone Flower comes in many colors. I was particularly drawn to the white petals that give it a daisy like look as well as a green stigma that has not yet matured to the deep yellow.
.....
Known as the Conehead Daisy, this flower blooms during late June and early July on the East coast and August in the Pacific Northwest. Widely renowned as a medicinal plant, coneflowers are a long-flowering perennial. The flower, plant, and root of some types are used in herbal remedies.
.....
The beautiful Conehead flower boasts a rotund stigma, the part of a pistil that receives the pollen. The flowers are a magnet for butterflies, and the seeds in the dried flower heads attract songbirds.
.....
I captured this these flowers in August while traveling in Seattle, Washington. This is perfect art for almost any decor.
