This staircase is located in the Mansion of the Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel which is nestled at the foot of the rolling Catoctin Mountains in Central Maryland. The Mansion is a 2 1/2-story Greek Revival style brick masonry house constructed in 1844. At the top of the stairs is a widow's walk also known as a "widow's watch" (or roofwalk). It is a railed rooftop platform often with a small enclosed cupola. From the widow's walk one can see the for miles. This is the view from the uppermost floor.
