This image is the tropical and sub-tropical Bougainvillea plant. The tiny white flower is surrounded by papery magenta-scarlet bracts. This woody climber with stiff curved thorns is a common garden plant in Florida. The bracts can be seen in all shades of pink and purple, and also red, yellow, white, salmon and orange.
