Description
This fall scene of abandoned railroad tracks was captured while hiking in the woods in the Pocono Mountains, near Hawley, Pennsylvania. The borough of Hawley was named for Irad Hawley, first president of the Pennsylvania Coal Company.
The Delaware & Hudson (D&H), a successful mining and railroad company, shipped anthracite coal and lumber from the Lackawanna Valley in northeastern Pennsylvania to the East Coast of the U.S. and to Canada. As the supply of coal and lumber were depleted from the area, the need for the railroad diminished, and the rail-trail came into being. This part of the abandoned track runs along the Lackawaxen River. This beautiful early autumn capture of the railroad track is perfect wall art for any Railroad lover.

Gorgeous Arlene. Train tracks in Autumn, it doesn't get too much better than that. Gorgeous color & perspective on this capture.
