Description
We have been visiting the town of Hawley, Pennsylvania, located in the Pocono Mountains, for the past four years. The grain and feed store, located just off the main square, has been going out of business since we discovered it on our first visit.. Although grain and feed were the last things we we looking to purchase, curiosity got the best of us, so we entered the store. It was like taking a step back in time. There was an elderly gentleman sitting near the back. He looked up but never acknowledged us. It was dark and smelled musty; a really strong kind of musty odor. Old faded posters lined the walls and although it was hard to really see them clearly, it looked as though though they could have been from the '40s or '50s. To say it was creepy is an understatement. I think we both felt the need to exit at about the same time because we made it to the door and were shoulder to shoulder trying to get through. This image is of the side of the building. The ivy nearly obstructs the view of the front facade, it is that overgrown. This is a great memory for me and an even better piece of wall art for you.

I do love the Ivy covered bricks , it is a mysterious spot.
Arlene Carmel replied:
It sure is mysterious Janine. Next time you and I will explore it together. That is if it hasn't really gone out of business.
